GM / Ford Cars Get Smart Money nod

While we hear the echoes in the empty showroom across the country, the magazines are a lot of money preparing for a shot with the purchaser’s annual guide for 2010.

Smart Money has published its take on the best value, as the New Year model stumbles out of the gate.

Green Car: No surprise here-hybrid industry leader, the Toyota Prius gets the nod. There is no point more beautiful, but has increased the mileage, the cut, while its price. It ’hard to argue with this choice, especially from a magazine Money. Ford Fusion gets deservedly the runner-up. For those who want basic habitability, the merger is probably the best choice. While it is more expensive, has more standard features. The VW Jetta TDI clean diesel offers an impressive 41 MPG on the road, but the fuel is more expensive.

SEDAN BEST: The sample is dethroned! Toyota Camry falls for the new Mazda 6. It’s certainly more eye-catching Smart Money and the judges gave props saloon for his league-leading roominess. Runners-up included the aforementioned Camry, the Chevy Malibu and Hyundai Sonata. The Sonata and Malibu beat the Camry for the comfort and interior appointments, but lacked the march and the category of handling.

CROSSOVERS: Congratulations to the Chevy Traverse. Along with the Malibu, GM gives a powerful punch in the two buyers of the magazine guide. The editors loved the cabin elegant, full of comfort and value-added standard features. The Toyota Highlander and Honda Pilot was dragged behind the Chevy because of the weaker unit trains.
